![]() I am Patrick Mbabazi Coutinho. I am a 44 year old Ugandan and I live in Kakira, about 15 km from Jinja-town, at the shores of Lake Victoria. I am married with Denise, we have 2 children: Wilma and Warren. My profession is Agricultural Engineering and I work at Kakira Sugar Works, a leading organisation in Uganda that manufactures sugar from the sugarcanes. I have studied Agriculture at Makerere University Kampala where I graduated in 1990. Afterwards I went to Deventer in Holland in 1993, where I studied Farm mechanisation at Larenstein International Agricultural College. In 1997, I went to Wageningen where I did a course in Land Drainage at the International Institute for Land Reclamation and Improvement. I have met Wilma, the director of the HUG-foundation, in 2001, the first time she came to Uganda. What I like about the foundation is the way they help the needy Ugandans with so much commitment! What I have done till now for the HUG foundation is:
I like to thank the members and the donators of the HUG-foundation for the trust they give to me. Yours sincerely, Patrick Mbabazi Coutinho * The baby is born in March 2007. Some photos of November 2007. |

___________________________________________________________________________ Onze andere steun in Uganda is Vincent Iga Muwanga. Ook hij is regelmatig in Nederland geweest en houdt zich voor ons bezig met Noah's Ark en het Sure Prospect Institute.
I am Vincent Iga Muwanga (1985), my wife is Sarah and our son is called Travor den Breejen. My life wasn't so smooth as one, who can find me in my office, may think. My mummy died when I was still young and since then I never had a happy life since I was living with my dad and step mum. My dad hadn't any troubles with me, but was just influenced by the new wife who never liked me and dad could only listen to her but no body else. So, I decided to stay with my grandmother in the slums of Katwe (Kampala) who also couldn't afford the feeding and school fees costs. Good enough, I had adopted my dad's talent as a musician that enabled me to join the Ngoma Troupe that was flying to Holland in the year 2000 for festival Mundial and other festivals. I was conducting the instrumentals in the troupe and as we went to Holland, we had to stay in host families of which mine and Jimmy was that of Mr. Henk (whom we called dad) and Mrs. Wilma (mummy) and Martijn (brother) den Breejen. It was the way we were treated in this family that led me to recognise these people as my parents because they could really care for us even more than I was cared for in my real family in Uganda. In the process of asking us about our ways of living, they saw that I really needed some help. From that time on, they took me as their real son as of course me, I still know them as my parents. They paid for my school fees from Senior Two up to Senior Six, then paid for my computer studies at Aptech World Wide Computer school where I attained my Certificate of Proficiency in Information Systems Management which enabled me to get my first Job at Kazo West Primary School where I was working as the Secretary. In 2005, my Dutch parents saw that I was more in the computer field and they wanted me to get higher and higher with my education so, they paid (twice) for my ticket to Holland and also for my schoolfees at ROC Aventus where I was studying for my Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The teachers at ROC Aventus were really nice to me! So they made me like what I was doing. Currently I am the Assistant Systems Administrator at TASO, but also making music with my troupe during weekends as I am thinking of going back for my degree if I get the means. ![]() HUG foundation is a project that helps the needy people of Uganda. Having been helped a lot by people who never had any relationship to me, I imagined that it would be a pleasure that I am helpful to some other needy people too. In this, I work hand in hand with the chairwoman and the entire board of HUG to see that things are going on well. During my stay in Holland, I wasn't only studying but also participating on different occasions with my Ugandan instruments where I could usually carry out a one person's show in a crowd of people, selling the crafts from Africa with the chairwoman of HUG plus some other members. Performing on special occasions which were mostly organised for us by HUG foundation. We were also collecting empty bottles and take them to shops to get money, driving long journeys collecting second hand clothes, selling sweets on the road sides and in markets at just one Euro per sweet and many other activities. All this was in an attempt to fund raise for the needy people of Uganda. Because of this experience, I try to let the people know that these people get the money they donate through pain so, one should appreciate whatever small things he/she gets. HUG organises workshops every year and dentists come over and help many people with teeth problems and donates a lot more ... In fact, lots of Ugandan people can't imagine how they can express their happiness to this foundation! I send my sincere thanks to the Government and all the donors of HUG foundation for all the necessary support that they offer to HUG foundation that helps a lot in smoothening the work of helping the needy people in Uganda and Africa at large. I mostly help to link HUG foundation in Holland with mostly Sure Prospect Institute and Noah's Ark among the HUG projects in Uganda. We love HUG and I will continue serving HUG Foundation as required. Vincent Iga Muwanga |
